We are excited to tell you about a new playlist feature we’ve added to your iPlayerHD embedding options. Until now, when you embedded a playlist, the color behind the thumbnail images has been white. While that served us well, it was time to give you the option to have the background transparent. When you choose transparency, the content of the page behind the thumbnails is exposed. This makes the entire embed much more consistent with the rest of the page on which the playlist is embedded.
You’ll choose the transparent option when you create your playlist embed. And you can choose between a light or dark font color to best display the video’s name and description once embedded. If you have previously embedded a playlist, you’ll need to grab new code to update your current embeds.
Allan MacKenzie of Xander Video in Brisbane, Australia is the first to use this feature – he was also the first to suggest it. You may see a super cool example on his web page here.
